One of the first things that people comment about when visiting Robin Place Fabrics for the first time are the beautiful flowers.  Have you noticed them lately?  Let me refresh your memory....

This week it has been my task, the girl with the black thumb, to keep the flowers all watered and looking beautiful. While watering I had a chance to reflect on something Pat recently shared.  She had the opportunity to tour a number of beautiful gardens in Homer, and remarked that building a garden is much like building a quilt...you first decide whether you want a traditional or "funky look....then you plot your colors. Will it be blendy or have great contrast?  You'll want to include a variety of textures too.

Then, voila, a beautiful garden (as long as you remember to water!).

So, what about the rest of you?  Do you plan your garden like you plan your quilts???

Happy sewing (and gardening),

Sue

P.S.  The last group of flowers above actually live at the Dragonfly Gallery.  Kudos to Chelline!
